BioChristopher Santucci is a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and instructor based in Montpelier, VT. Chris has been playing and teaching professionally for over 23 years. Chris began his musical studies in his birthplace of New Jersey at the age of five with piano before moving to the trumpet at age eight. At thirteen he started to teach himself guitar by using his father’s old guitar method books. It was at this time that a serious several hour a day practice schedule and lifelong devotion to music started. The main inspiration for study at first was rock and popular music but Chris soon after opened his studies to include jazz and classical guitar styles as well as theory and composition. Along the way his passion for all music has led him to study electric bass, mandolin, ukulele, and voice and other musical genres such as flamenco, Brazilian styles and bluegrass. Well known as a classical guitarist and musician, Chris is also a highly proficient jazz and pop/rock guitarist as well as a vocalist. In ensemble and band situations he can double on trumpet, electric bass, mandolin and/or ukulele. In addition to his status as a performing artist, Christopher is a very dedicated music teacher instructing in the aforementioned styles and instruments and in music theory. |
